"Last night was absolutely incredible. Record turnout. Record wins.

Marion County voters have sent a strong message. They are continuing to put their trust in our incumbent Democratic elected officials, and have now extended that trust to even more Democratic leaders. Indianapolis has been a Democratic stronghold for decades, but this year that stronghold has become ironclad.

For the first time in 14 years, Marion County’s Democratic overperformance helped secure two statewide elected offices. Congratulations to Secretary of State-elect Beau Bayh and State Comptroller-elect Jessica Bailey.

We have not only broken the Republican supermajority, we have obliterated it. Marion County is proud to send all of our Democratic incumbents back to the Statehouse and to welcome Representatives-elect Stephanie Jo Yocum, David Boyd, Jarren Hurt, and Eva Rosberg to join them.

On the State Senate side, we are proud to have Allissa Impink and Kristina Moorhead taking the baton from their Democratic predecessors. We are also proud that our own Sheriff Kerry Forestal is now State Senator-elect Kerry Forestal.

We won every countywide office, including Prosecutor Ryan Mears and County Clerk Kate Sweeney Bell, who both faced Republican challengers. We are also thrilled to have Kelvis Williams as our new Sheriff, continuing to keep Indianapolis safe.

For the first time ever, all 9 townships across Marion County have a Democratic Township Trustee. Congratulations to all of our incumbent Trustees, as well as Trustees-elect Elise Fecteau (Decatur), Temica Key (Franklin), and Ben Brown (Perry). We also want to congratulate all of our other incumbent township office winners, as well as Perry Township Constable-elect Jerry Melvin and Perry Township Judge-elect Jami Sayeed.

We are proud of our wins, but even more so, we are proud of the work Indy Democrats and our candidates did to achieve these results. Whether it was at a community event, on a doorstep, or over the phone, voters talked and Democrats listened. With that information, 63 re-elected or newly elected Marion County Democrats will continue to stand up and work toward real solutions for the people of Indianapolis."
